My Testimony
This is the story of how I became a follower of Christ. When I was 11 years old, my parents sent me to a kid’s church camp. While I was there, I heard a lot of things I didn’t know how to process. The camp pastor presented a message each morning and night with a strong theme - fear of hell. As a kid, I was terrified, but I didn’t want to “get saved” out of fear of going to hell when I die, because I had also been told that my decision to become a Christian couldn’t be made out of fear, or it wouldn’t be real.
The week went by, and I didn’t accept Christ. I lived with the fear for about 2 weeks, struggling to sleep and praying that God would help me to know if I’m going to go to heaven and be with Him when I die. Eventually, I finally decided to go to my mom and ask her about salvation. She explained to me the basics of the gospel, and I became a child of God that evening in 2012.
I trust that his sacrifice has covered my sins, and that I am being transformed into someone who looks more and more like Him each day through the time I spend in prayer and studying His word.
